UNDATED - Your grocery costs are rising, thanks to higher oil and higher feed prices, but there are ways you can save.
Swap out your meat. Go for chicken over beef. Beef prices are more than 12 percent higher than a year ago, while chicken rose about 3 percent, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Ditch your java. Coffee prices are up 9.4 percent. Consider tea.
Eat more eggs. Egg prices are just 1 percent higher than a year ago.
And, of course, eat your veggies. Either consider locally grown vegetables and fruits or consider planting a garden. WTOP's Garden Editor Mike McGrath will have advice throughout the spring and summer on gardening.
