WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says weekend work will affect all five rail lines, and passengers should expect to wait longer than usual for trains.
Beginning Friday at 10 p.m. and continuing through closing on Sunday, Red Line trains will single track in two places. Trains will single track between Shady Grove and Twinbrook and between Rhode Island Ave. and Takoma.
On the Orange, Blue, Yellow and Green lines, trains will operate every 18 minutes throughout the weekend to allow for improvement work. Metro says as a result passengers should expect longer wait times at station platforms. Once trains depart, however, Metro says passengers should not experience delays.
