Update: As of Tuesday, crews haven’t set up any work. There are message boards in the area warning of the impending work, so we’ll let you know as soon as anything is set up.
Previous entry: Starting this week, new construction projects are scheduled in Northwest near the Third Street Tunnel. DDOT is starting an 18-month rehabilitation project that will include paving and upgrades to the drainage system, traffic signals and sidewalks.
The bridges over I-395 on K Street, H Street, and Massachusetts Avenue will have what DDOT describes as “a minimum of one lane open in each direction.” The work schedule is Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Crews may also work on weekends as needed.
This is a long-term project, so keep that in mind if you like to take Massachusetts Avenue or H Street to get to the Third Street Tunnel.
