Thomas Warren hails from Inglewood, Calif.
He graduated from Howard University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Thomas
was hired at WTOP in 2008, after completing an internship at the station his last
semester of college.
Thomas wears a few different hats at WTOP. He is a producer and writer for the
weekday afternoon drive show, and weekend afternoon editor.
Thomas coordinated coverage during "Snowmageddon of 2010," the 2011 Virginia
Earthquake, and has covered Libyan and Egyptian protests at the White House.
He is also a 2011 RTDNA/RIAS Fellow.
He has taken a very non-traditional road into the news business. Amongst other
things, before becoming a journalist, and even before going to college, Thomas was a
professional baseball player. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 1997 draft
by the Milwaukee Brewers, and played four years in the minor leagues of their
