(AP) - DOGFIGHT: Airlines want to raise more revenues by selling extras with tickets and are locked in a battle with three companies that dominate the bookings industry.

COSTLY MIDDLEMEN? Carriers complain the current system is a 1970s throwback without Internet-era convenience. They want to cut out the ticket booking systems _ Sabre Holdings, Travelport Ltd. and Amadeus IT Group _ that some say are obsolete, costly middlemen.

TIGHT SQUEEZE: Bookers say they have upgraded services and can meet carriers' needs. The battle highlights how crucial fees from add-ons are to airlines with high fuel costs in a slow global economy.
