Bicyclist killed in hit-and-run ID’d

WASHINGTON – Prince George’s County police continue to search for the driver involved in a hit-and-run that killed a bicyclist in Lanham Sunday morning.

Dwight C. Johnson, 34 of Lanham, was biking west on Martin Luther King Jr. Highway before 2 a.m. Sunday when he was hit by a black Nissan Altima, police say.

Police say the Altima would have front end damage on its right side, a broken headlamp and a piece of its bumper missing. The car is likely a 2010, 2011 or 2012 model.

The driver did not stay at the scene of the wreck.

Police ask that anyone who may have information about the car or the driver to call investigators at 301-731-4422 or to call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
