LANDOVER, Md. (AP) - Prince George's County police collected nearly 200 guns during a gun buyback event in Landover over the weekend.
WJLA reports that residents turned in pistols, shotguns and semi-automatic weapons during the "Gift Cards for Guns" program. Residents received gift cards valued up to $100 for each gun.
The event, held Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Highland Park, is intended to reduce gun-related crimes.
