WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Screen on the Green summer movie series starts next month on the National Mall.
The free outdoor movie festival begins July 22 with "E.T." The second selection is the 1979 movie "Norma Rae" about a factory worker working to unionize her textile mill. Actress Sally Field won an Oscar for her performance in the movie.
"Norma Rae" will be followed by "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory" on Aug. 5 and "Tootsie" on Aug. 12.
This is the 15th year of the series.
The screen is set up on the National Mall between 7th and 12th streets. All movies begin at sunset.
