'Not Fade Away' to kick off Virginia Film Festival

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - "The Sopranos" creator David Chase's film "Not Fade Away" will kick off the Virginia Film Festival's 25th anniversary celebration.

More than 100 films will be screened during the festival, including "A Late Quartet", "The Man With the Iron Fists" and "The Stand Up Guys".

Actor Keith Carradine is scheduled to discuss Ridley Scott's first feature film, "The Duelists." Carradine starred in the film with Harvey Keitel.

Other speakers include newsman and documentary film producer Nick Clooney, actor-director-producer Matthew Lillard, and Boyd Tinsley of the Dave Matthews Band.

The festival begins Nov. 1 and continues through Nov. 4 in Charlottesville. It's presented by the University of Virginia's College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences.
