WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama are expressing sadness over the death of Donna Summer, the Queen of Disco who succumbed to cancer at the age of 63.
The Obamas said their thoughts and prayers were with Summer's family and fans.
They praised the singer's voice as unforgettable and said the music industry had lost a legend.
Summer's publicist says she died Thursday morning in Naples, Fla.
Summer rose to stardom during the disco boom of the 1970s, but she continued to make her mark musically. She was a five-time Grammy Award winner.
