Davidson, Tom win lead acting Daytime Emmys

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) -- "Days of Our Lives" has won drama series honors for just the second time in 40 years at the Daytime Emmy Awards.

The NBC soap opera that began airing in 1965 beat out defending champion "General Hospital" and three-time winner: The Bold and the Beautiful."

The winner of the Emmy for lead actor in a daytime drama series was Doug Davidson of "The Young and the Restless."

The lead actress in a drama series award went to Heather Tom of "The Bold and the Beautiful."

Among the other winners were "The Price is Right" as best game show; "The Dr. Oz Show" for informative talk show; and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" for best entertainment talk show.

The Daytime Emmys were presented Sunday night during a live telecast from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif.
