Balt. police catch either fictitious murderer or real gun suspect

WASHINGTON — “You come at the king, you best not miss.”

Sound advice from cold-blooded hit man Omar Little. The fictional character plays a pivotal role in the violent drug “game” of the hit HBO series “The Wire,” written by former Baltimore Sun reporter David Simon.

Too bad his real life counterpart didn’t heed the same advice.

Charm City police arrested a man with the same name as the character, The Sun reports. This Little, a 19-year-old man with a hand gun charge, was arrested this past weekend.

Simon told the Sun the connection was “coincidence, completely,” despite his usage of many real Baltimoreans as inspiration for his true-to-life scripts.

The actor behind the fictional Little, Michael K. Williams, is now a guest star on the NBC show “Community,” as well as the HBO drama “Boardwalk Empire,” which is slightly more like his previous work:
