‘Guardians’ lands $10.4 million at box office

“Guardians of the Galaxy” keeps orbiting the top spot at the box office.

For the fourth weekend, the cosmic Marvel action-adventure landed in first place, collecting $10.4 million and bringing its total domestic haul to $294.8 million in its sixth week of release.

“Guardians,” which stars Chris Pratt as the intergalactic mercenary Peter “Star-Lord” Quill, has been at No. 1 for three weeks in a row.

In its fifth week, Paramount’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” came in second with $6.5 million. The box office total for the heroes-on-the-half-shell reboot now stands at $174.7 million.

The Fox comedy “Let’s Be Cops” starring Damon Wayans Jr. and Jake Johnson slid into third place with $5.6 million, bringing its total to $66.8 million after four weeks at theaters.
