McConaughey adds star power to Redskins event

WASHINGTON — Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris received the red carpet treatment for his Movies with Morris fundraising event Wednesday night. And while his name may have been attached to the evening’s festivities, he was hardly the biggest celebrity present.

Academy Award-winning actor and noted Redskins fan Matthew McConaughey lent some star power to the evening, which celebrated Morris’ selection as the Redskins 2013 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.

Six different Redskins players, including Robert Griffin III, chose their favorite movies to screen for audiences at the Alamo Drafthouse in Ashburn, Virginia.

McConaughey also spent time with the team during Organized Team Activity workouts earlier in the day.
