The sixth-ranked Czech broke first to go up 3-2 in the first set with a crosscourt winner. But Djokovic ran off three straight games to go up 5-4 -- saving three break points in the ninth game -- and then broke Berdych a second time when he double-faulted.
Djokovic broke to go up 5-3 in the second, and saved a break point in the next game before clinching the victory with a forehand winner.
