D.C. United defender Marc Burch has toe surgery

WASHINGTON (AP) - D.C. United defender Marc Burch has undergone surgery to repair an arthritic big toe condition in his right foot.
United said Wednesday that Burch is expected to make a full recovery in time for the 2012 MLS season.
Burch played in 17 matches, including 11 starts, this year. He had one goal and one assist.
