Woman goes missing in Montgomery County

WASHINGTON — Montgomery County police officers are looking for a woman who disappeared from her home on Sunday.

Evi Yancey, a 29-year-old black woman, lives in a group home along the 4700 block of Bel Pre Road. She was last seen there at 12 p.m. when she left on foot after having a disagreement with another resident.

Yancey is 5′8″ and weighs 230 pounds, according to a police description. She has short black hair and brown eyes.

When Yancey left the home, she wore a purple tank top, blue jeans, and black flip- flops. She has a floral print purse and black radio.

Caretakers say Yancey functions at an emotional level lower than her age. Police and her caretakers are concerned for her well-being.

She is familiar with public transportation and has frequented the Westfield Wheaton Shopping Center, as well as Cedar Creek Lane in Silver Spring.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Evi Yancey should contact the Montgomery County Police at 301-279-8000.
