Rock Creek along Beach Drive in Bethesda flooded over on Wednesday afternoon, leaving the intersection of Beach Drive and Cedar Lane closed and at least four vehicles incapacitated or stranded standing water

A BMW remained in foot-deep water under the Beltway bridge over Cedar Lane and Park Police have closed off that section of the park.

It’s left school buses, Ride On buses and many drivers turning around near the creek, which is flowing rapidly at the level of the Cedar Lane bridge.

Roads are sustaining local flooding around the area. Even major routes, such as Democracy Boulevard, have had flash flooding capable of stranding motorists.

Expect roads near stream beds to have flooding issues for the rest of the day, as MCFRS units have responded to numerous reports of cars stuck in water.
