WASHINGTON - A woman accidentally was shot in the head with an arrow Tuesday evening in Damascus.
Montgomery County police say the incident occurred in the 10400 block of Moxley Road as people were taking target practice outside a home. Capt. Robert Bolesta, a police spokesman, says the arrow apparently did not enter the woman's skull.
Bolesta says the woman was struck after the arrow went through a bale of hay and then ricocheted.
The woman, in her 20s, was flown to a local trauma center. Police say her injuries are serious but not life-threatening.
