Senators, Canadiens, Leafs pay tribute to soldiers

OTTAWA (AP) — The Ottawa Senators, Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs will hold coordinated tributes Saturday night to honor the Canadian soldiers who lost their lives during shootings this week.

The tributes will be before games at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, the Bell Centre in Montreal and Air Canada Centre in Toronto. The Senators said Friday the teams will show appreciation for the men and women whose actions stopped the attackers and aided victims.

A gunman killed a soldier at Ottawa’s war memorial Wednesday then stormed Parliament before being shot dead. On Monday, a soldier was killed when a man drove a car into him at a federal building near Montreal.

The Senators play the New Jersey Devils, the Canadiens face the New York Rangers and the Maple Leafs host the Boston Bruins.
