Voynov suspended after arrest in California

NEW YORK (AP) — The NHL has indefinitely suspended Los Angeles Kings defenseman Slava Voynov because of domestic violence charges.

Police in the Los Angeles suburb of Redondo Beach released limited information, giving no details of what is alleged to have occurred.

Sgt. Paul Ribitzki said Voynov was arrested under a “domestic violence/spousal abuse” section of the penal code. Ribitzki said Voynov was booked early Monday.

Bail was set at $50,000, which Voynov posted.

The NHL isn’t providing other details. He will be paid during the investigation.
