Sabres shift Devine to player personnel director

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Sabres have shifted Kevin Devine’s role to player personnel director in the latest series of front-office shuffles this offseason.

Devine previously served as the team’s chief scout and assistant general manager. Those roles were filled by Greg Royce and Mark Jakubowski earlier this month.

The Sabres also announced Tuesday that Randy Cunneyworth takes over as player development coach after working with the team’s prospects in AHL Rochester. Former assistant coach Jerry Forton fills a new role as an NCAA scout.

Jason Long was named coordinator of player development. Corey Smith was named video coach. And Jim Kovachik was named a pro scout, while Seamus Kotyk and Victor Nybladh were added as amateur scouts.

The reorganization is taking place after Tim Murray took over as general manager in January.
