Capitals to host blood drive at training facility

ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) — The Washington Capitals will be hosting their annual summer blood drive at their training center in Arlington.

The Capitals say the blood drive will take place Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kettler Capitals Iceplex.

The Capitals say forward Joel Ward will make an appearance at the blood drive and that blood drive donors will receive a Ward bobblehead as well as a Capitals T-shirt.

Anyone who wants to participate in the blood drive must make an appointment. Appointments can be made online at the Inova Blood Donor Services website or by calling 1-866-BLOODSAVES.
