SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) -- The Baltimore Orioles and right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez have finalized a four-year, free-agent contract.

The Orioles on Wednesday announced the deal with Jimenez, who has an 82-75 record with a 3.92 ERA in eight seasons with Colorado and Cleveland.

Last season, Jimenez went 13-9 with a 3.30 ERA for the Indians. His best year came in 2010 when he was 19-8 with a 2.88 ERA for Colorado and was the NL starter in the All-Star Game.

In order to sign the 30-year-old right-hander, Baltimore must give up its first-round draft choice, the 17th pick overall, in June's draft.

Jimenez is expected to join the Orioles' starting staff, which includes Chris Tillman, Wei-Yin Chen, Miguel Gonzalez and Bud Norris.

To make room for Jimenez on the 40-man roster, Baltimore designated right-handed pitcher Liam Hendriks for assignment.
