OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Seattle infielder Nick Franklin left Tuesday's game against the Oakland Athletics after the top of the eighth inning with a left knee laceration.

Franklin beat a throw to the plate and caught his left knee on the cleats of A's catcher Derek Norris. His pants were torn and the laceration required stitches.

Franklin had two hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs in the game.

Norris also left the game with an apparent left knee injury.
