That's led to big league games in which teams have differing numbers of available players.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Mark McGwire has taken over as hitting coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers, lured by the chance to spend more time with his wife and five young children. He was hired to improve an offense that ranked 13th in the National League in runs scored and RBIs and 15th in home runs. McGwire has spent the last three seasons as the hitting coach with St. Louis.
