Texas woman gets life in 4 Maryland killings

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) — A Texas woman convicted in the suburban Maryland shooting deaths of two children, their mother and their aunt has been sentenced to life in prison.

T’keisha Nicole Gilmer was sentenced Friday in Prince George’s County Circuit Court. The 23-year-old pleaded guilty to four counts of first-degree murder in 2011 and testified against her boyfriend in the case.

Her boyfriend, 48-year-old Darrell Lynn Bellard is serving seven life sentences in the August 2010 killings of 38-year-old Dawn Brooks of Lanham, Maryland, her two children, ages 3 and 4, and her 41-year-old sister.

Prosecutors say Bellard, also of Texas, executed all four when Brooks and her sister couldn’t account for some missing marijuana. Prosecutors say Gilmer was in the room and armed with a gun at the time of the killings.
