Md. sex offender allegedly violates restrictions

WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) — A registered sex offender from Westminster faces charges he violated his restrictions by entering a behavioral health clinic that also houses a daycare center.

The Carroll County Times (http://bit.ly/1qgbYkh ) reported Tuesday that 25-year-old Jerome Myers Jr. was arrested Friday after he was seen at Villa Maria of Carroll County, a Catholic Charities operation.

An employee reported to police that Myers entered the building July 18, despite having been told by telephone a day earlier he would have to wait for approval to receive services because of the on-site daycare.

Myers has no home telephone listing, and his attorneys didn’t immediately return calls from The Associated Press.

He was convicted last year of sexual abuse of a minor. His lifetime restrictions include a prohibition on knowingly entering property containing daycares.
