Man pleads guilty in slaying of friend’s wife

BALTIMORE (AP) — A California man has pleaded guilty to his role in the slaying of a friend’s wife in Maryland.

Thirty-year-old Dellando Campbell of Lemoore pleaded guilty to interstate domestic violence resulting in the death of a spouse Monday in federal court in Baltimore.

According to his plea agreement, Campbell conspired with Ryan Holness to kill his wife, 26-year-old Serika Dunkley Holness of Brooklyn, New York. Prosecutors say on June 4, 2009, the three drove from New York to Maryland. Serika Holness was found fatally stabbed on the side of a rural Eastern Shore road the next day.

Authorities say Ryan Holness told police that he and his wife were carjacked, and Campbell left his own blood at the scene to provide support for Holness’ claim.

Holness was sentenced to life.
