WASHINGTON — The FBI is seeking a man who they say is responsible for three bank robberies in the area and they are offering thousands of dollars for information that leads to his arrest.

The robberies occurred in D.C. and Montgomery County, Md. — two in January and one in March, officials say.

In each of the robberies, the suspect entered the bank, approached the counter and handed the teller a note that demanded money. Also, he implied he had a weapon.

The first robbery occurred in Jan. 13 around 4:30 p.m. at the Bank of America on South Park Avenue in Chevy Chase, Md. The second robbery was less than a mile away at the Capital One Bank on Connecticut Avenue in D.C. on Jan. 29 at 4 p.m.

The third robbery happened March 28 at the Bank of America on Mt. Pleasant Street in NW D.C.

The suspect wore different things during the robberies, officials say.

During the Jan. 13 robbery, the subject wore a dark-colored baseball cap and a black zip-up jacket. On Jan. 29, the subject wore a black hooded sweatshirt with “Nike” written in grey across the front, a black winter hat with fur lining and ear flaps, large framed glasses, and dark-colored pants and shoes. In the March 28 robbery, the subject wore a black hooded jacket, jeans and a dark green and white baseball cap.

In all robberies, after the suspect took the money from the banks, he fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male between 25 and 30 years old. He is between 5 foot, 7 inches and 5 foot, 9 inches tall.

Officials have not said how much money the man stole and if anyone was injured during the robberies.

The FBI Washington Field Office is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of the individual.

Anyone with information about the robberies can call the FBI at 202-278-2000.
