RISING SUN, Md. (AP) -- A Cecil County emergency official says a 19-year-old woman was struck by lightning at a zoo.
County Director of Emergency Services Richard Brooks says the woman, an intern at the Plumpton Park Zoo in Rising Sun, was feeding animals Thursday morning when the storm blew in. He says the woman was standing near a tree when the lightning struck.
Brooks says a co-worker performed CPR until paramedics arrived. The woman was taken to Union Hospital and later transferred to Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del. He did not have details on her condition.
