PASADENA, Md. (AP) -- A Pasadena teen was killed in a hit-and-run crash, but his heart is now giving an ailing friend a chance to live.
Skylar Marion was hit by an SUV while walking and taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center. At the same hospital, his friend Kyle Wilkerson was in heart failure. One day after Marion died, Wilkerson got a heart transplant.
It wasn't until after the surgery that the teens' parents learned about their connection. Denise Wilkerson says she would rather Skylar was alive and her son was still waiting.
Michael Marion says his son's organs went to three other patients too. He says the devil took his son away and God wanted him to spread his son around.
