RAWLINGS, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a Rawlings man who was shot by troopers after wounding his brother and firing at his father has died.

Troopers say 53-year-old Samuel E. George, who was shot after repeatedly refusing to put down a .22-caliber revolver Thursday night, died Friday afternoon at Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

State Police say two troopers fired at George with 12-gauge shotguns and the Allegany County man was treated by a paramedic who had responded to the scene. The troopers were not injured.

Authorities say George's brother, Jason George, was grazed in the leg and refused treatment. George's father was not struck.

The shooting is under investigation.
