TAKOMA PARK, Md. (AP) -- Takoma Park police say one of two Washington special education teachers killed in a weekend murder-suicide was a former Marine who had experienced severe trauma in Iraq.
Police say 30-year-old David Draa of Takoma Park and 30-year-old Steven Kyle Hickman were found dead in a driveway early Sunday morning. The Washington Post reports (http://wapo.st/126PJWs) investigators believe Hickman originally planned to spend the night at Draa's apartment after his bicycle broke, but later decided to leave. Police say he was shot from behind while repairing the bicycle.
Friends of the two said it was well known Draa was dealing with problems. Police say the two were co-workers at a special education school in Washington.
