HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The city of Hagerstown is taking a fresh look at downtown redevelopment.
The agenda for Tuesday's City Council meeting includes a presentation from Towson-based Sora Development. The company is a partner in a public-private revitalization effort in Glassboro, N.J.
Local attorney Bruce Poole is coordinating the presentation. He says it will also include Skanska USA, a New York-based construction company with expertise in stadium construction.
City officials haven't dismissed the possibility of a downtown, minor-league baseball stadium proposed by former mayor Robert Bruchey. Citizen opposition to that concept led to Bruchey's defeat in November by David Gysberts (GUYS'-berts).
The agenda also includes a discussion of planned improvements to 82-year-old Municipal Stadium, home of the minor-league Hagerstown Suns.
