BERLIN, Md. - Maryland State Police say they found 350 pounds of marijuana in a van after a traffic stop in Berlin.
Troopers said Friday that the traffic stop occurred Sunday on southbound Route 113. A trooper said the van failed to move over into an available lane after passing the cruiser.
Authorities say the trooper became suspicious and called for a State Police drug dog team. Officers say the dog alerted and a search turned up five large nylon duffel bags which contained the marijuana.
Fifty-four-year-old Donald P. Gayle of New Brunswick, N.J., the driver of the van, was arrested and charged with drug offenses.
