HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) - Two Williamsport High School seniors who were sports standouts were killed in a car crash over the weekend.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office says Brendon Edward Colliflower and Samantha Rae Kelly were killed when Colliflower lost control of a 2007 Honda on Rench Road, near Downsville Pike, on Saturday night. The Honda went off the road and struck a tree. Both teens were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports that friends believe the couple was returning from their high school prom in Shepherdstown, W.Va., when the crash occurred.
Colliflower had been a pitcher on the high school baseball team. Kelly played volleyball and was also the No. 1 girls singles player for the tennis team this spring.
Both had been honor roll students.
