How much will you pay for Wizards playoff tickets

WASHINGTON – There’s good news and bad news for Wizards fans hoping to see the team play the Chicago Bulls when the teams’ first-round playoff series returns to Washington.

Since the Wizards’ hot start, overall ticket prices on the resale market have gotten more reasonable, even though the cheapest tickets for team’s first home contests have gotten more expensive.

According to figures obtained Thursday from TiqIQ, a ticket search engine company, the average listing price of a ticket to Game 3 at Verizon Center Friday is $261.

For Game 4, at home on Sunday, the average price was $267, with the cheapest seats going for $84.

One day after the regular season ended, it would have cost only $77 to get into Game 3, and $64 for Game 4. But at the same time, the average asking price of a ticket was $342 for the Wizards’ first home contest and $310 for their second.

TiqIQ said the current average price for all Wizards-Bulls games, both in Chicago and in Washington, was around $249, placing the series squarely in the middle of the NBA’s first-round matchups in terms of cost.

The Wizards lead the Bulls two games to none in the best-of-seven series.
