WASHINGTON - The Washington Wizards have signed guard Morris Almond and waived Roger Mason Jr., who is out for the season after surgery on his broken left index finger.
Almond has played four seasons in the NBA Development League, averaging 24.5 points.
He was taken in the first round of the 2007 NBA draft by the Utah Jazz out of Rice University. Almond averaged 3.1 points and 1.1 rebounds in 34 games with the Jazz.
Mason had surgery Monday. He averaged 5.5 points and 1.3 rebounds and shot 38.3 percent from 3-point range this season.
