Physician indicted in Virginia jogger’s death

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A Mechanicsville physician has been indicted in the January death of a jogger.

Media outlets report a Hanover County grand jury indicted Dr. Michael Carlson on Tuesday on a charge of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Meg Menzies.

Court records show the 34-year-old Menzies was struck by an SUV on Jan. 13 while running with her husband along a narrow shoulder along state Route 54 in Hanover County. She and her husband were training for the Boston Marathon.

Thousands of joggers paid tribute to Menzies with spontaneous runs in the days after her death.
