DOVER, Del. -- The Delaware Family Court system has received a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to study ways to improve the handling of child custody and visitation cases.

The court is one of only four court systems nationwide selected to participate in a two-year pilot program.

Family Court Chief Judge Chandlee Kuhn tells The News Journal of Wilmington ( ) that she thinks the court already does a good job "but I want to see if we can do a better job." She says she thinks the state was selected for the program because it has a dedicated and statewide family court system.

The pilot program is sponsored by the Justice Department's Office on Violence Against Women and the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges.
