MOUNT AIRY, Md. (AP) -- The Carroll County Sheriff's Office says two people were killed and a third person was hurt when a truck hit a car in Mount Airy.
It happened about 1 a.m. Thursday on Buffalo Road. Deputies say a car driven by 25-year-old Ricky Wean of New Windsor was traveling north when it passed another vehicle on a double yellow line.
Police say Wean lost control of the car on a curve. Officers say the car was hit by a truck traveling south and driven by 25-year-old Steven Bryant of Laytonsville.
Deputies say Wean and his passenger, 23-year-old Christopher Goldzwig of Keymar, were pronounced dead at the scene. Bryant was taken to Meritus Hospital in Hagerstown with injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.
The accident is under investigation.
