RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control says two agents violated department policy during the wrongful arrest of a University of Virginia student.
The ABC says in a news release it has taken "corrective action" against the agents involved but declined to be more specific.
In April, several ABC agents confronted 20-year-old Elizabeth Daly after mistaking sparkling water that she had bought for beer. Daly fled with two friends.
Two felony charges for grazing two agents with her vehicle were later dropped. Daly has said she panicked because the agents weren't in uniform and one pulled a gun. An agent also tried to break open a car window with his flashlight.
The ABC says it has adopted or revised more than a dozen policies.
