HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Police have charged a man with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of an 18-year-old man in downtown Hagerstown.
The Herald-Mail (http://bit.ly/16GkAdj ) reports 20-year-old Shakeem Tradwell Miles of Hagerstown was charged in the case. He is charged in the death of 18-year-old Jalonte Davonne Thomas-Leach of Hagerstown.
Police say officers were called to the unit block of West Franklin Street about 4:30 a.m. Sunday. The officers found a large, disorderly crowd in the street and found Thomas-Leach suffering from stab wounds in the hallway of an apartment building.
Police say the victim was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Lt. Jim Hurd says police don't yet know a motive in the killing. Miles was also charged with second-degree murder, first-degree assault and other charges.
