CULPEPER, Va. (AP) -- Culpeper County Commonwealth's Attorney Megan Frederick says she won't apologize for calling some county supervisors corrupt.

The Board of Supervisors filed a complaint last week with the Virginia State Bar demanding that Frederick retract her statement.

Frederick tells the Culpeper Star-Exponent ( ) that there will be no apology. She says she's not ashamed of what she said.

Frederick says she doesn't want to provide details about her statement until the complaint is resolved.

She made the statement in a Sept. 12 email to about a dozen people. In the email, she praised two supervisors for opposing funding for a new Sheriff's Office building. She wrote that those two lost the battle "due to incompetent and corrupt members of the board."
