BALTIMORE (AP) -- Maryland Transportation Authority police say two officers were hurt when a vehicle rear-ended a cruiser during a traffic stop on Interstate 95.
Spokesman 1st Sgt. Kevin Ayd says the officers had stopped a vehicle on southbound I-95 near the Caton Avenue exit early Thursday when a vehicle hit the cruiser. He says one officer was standing next to the cruiser talking to the other officer when the car, driven by a 33-year-old woman rear-ended the cruiser, pushing it into the second cruiser.
The officers and driver were taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center. Ayd says the officer inside the cruiser has minor injuries and the other officer has head and shoulder injuries. He says the woman was alert and walking after the crash.
