NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Officials in Norfolk are cracking down on homes near the Old Dominion University campus they say are illegally selling booze.

The Virginian-Pilot reports ( city officials sent a letter to three addresses last week advising the owners that it was illegal under state and city code to sell alcohol. The letters also listed various state laws, fire codes and city ordinances that officials believed the residents may have violated.

Deputy City Attorney Cynthia Hall said Tuesday she had heard from each of the property owners, who said they would cooperate.

Norfolk officials recently found information on Twitter advertising 50 cent Jell-O shots and $1 "jungle juice" at a party at one of the addresses.

A man was shot at one of the residences Aug. 24.
