LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) -- The remains of a soldier killed during the Korean War are being returned to Lynchburg for burial.

Media outlets report that military officials notified Army Cpl. Charles Lawrence Scott's family earlier this month that his remains had been identified. Burial with full military honors is scheduled for Sept. 5 at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

Scott was declared missing in action in 1950. His remains were declared as unidentifiable in 1955 and were buried at a national cemetery in Hawaii in 1956.
