Man arrested in Tysons Corner jewelry store robbery

MCLEAN, Va. (AP) - Fairfax County Police have arrested a Michigan man in a smash-and-grab robbery at a Tysons Corner Center jewelry store.

Officers say five men entered the Kay Jewelers in the McLean shopping center about 4:10 p.m. Tuesday. Police say they used hammers or mallets to smash several display cashes and steal jewelry.

The suspect fled then ran through the mall and escaped through am emergency exit.

Police arrested 22-year-old Brandon Bowditch of Hamtramck, Mich. He has been charged with robbery.
