PORT DEPOSIT, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a person of interest has been taken into custody in the death of a 10-year-old Cecil County girl.
A police spokeswoman gave no details Tuesday about the person in custody but said investigators also were looking at other leads in the death of 10-year-old Kami Ring.
The girl's body was found in a heavily overgrown field across the street from a doublewide home in which she was staying with three other people.
Police have questioned all three of those people, including two that Ring considered to be her grandparents, even though they are not related to the child.
Troopers were called to the residence in Port Deposit on Monday morning after the girl, who was last seen Sunday night, was reported missing.
